posibility to find secon job - Some of the students have gotten a 2nd job in the late afternoon or early evenings which is okay as long as they don't work so late that they can't be in on time in the morning (7AM for this job) or don't get over-tired. cost of housing - We do have a 3 bedroom cottage that our student employees share. It is located about 2 blocks from the Inn. He may be sharing a bedroom with 1 other student. The cost is $80/week and he would have to give us an $80 deposit upon arrival which is returned at the end if there are no damages & he cleans the cottage properly before leaving.

COMPANY ACTIVITIES: jewelry store on the New Jersey shore, open year-round in resort towns. We have an excellent reputation and have a lot of fun while getting a lot done.
LOCATION: We have 2 stores, one in Ocean City, New Jersey, and one in Stone Harbor, New Jersey. Both are islands in South Jersey, and our stores are steps from the beach.
NUMBER OF STUDENTS INTEND TO HIRE: It would be great if we could hire 3 students for our store in Ocean City and 3 students for our store in Stone Harbor (total of 6).
POSITION: Sales Consultant.
DUTIES: Employess will be working in our jewelry stores, making sales, taking inventory of products, talking with customers to assess their needs/sell them jewelry, and performing light housekeeping around the store (making sure cases are clean, uncluttered, floors clean, glass clean, etc.) Training will occur upon arrival to jewelry store.
REQUIREMENTS: Excellent English is required for this job. Speaking with co-workers and customers everyday is a must, therefore you must be able to communicate by and understand English. If you are shy or do not like to talk to strangers, this job is not for you. There are thousands of people that come into our store every day and if you are not comfortable talking to them, it won't be possible for you to work here. You must be dressed up to work on the sales floor. Dresses, slacks, blouses, light sweaters. Skirts must be full length. Chic dress, no jeans, flip flops or t-shirts with writing on them permitted.
SALARY/HOURS: $8 per hour. 40 hours per week. You will have the opportunity to work overtime at the rate of $12 per hour; overtime is determined by the need of the employer and the work performance of the employee. (10-15 hours per week). There is also a $.50 cent per hour bonus for all employees who stay until the end of their work contract.

HOUSING OPPORTUNITY/COST: There is affordable housing close to our stores. The rent will be approximately $70-$100 per week. Housing if furnished with necessities so there is no need to bring linens. You will be able to walk or ride a bike to our stores. This is a very safe and secure area. Both Ocean City and Stone Harbor have grocery stores, libraries, restaurants, post offices, etc. Everything is very convenient.
POSSIBILITY OF FINDING A SECOND JOB: A second job is not an option. We are open everyday from 9am-11pm or 12 midnight. Your schedule will be given upon arriving in the USA.
OTHER DETAILS: Ocean City and Stone Harbor are both very close to many major cities that you might want to visit, while you are here--New York City, NY, Washington DC, Atlantic City, NJ, Philadelphia, PA, Niagara Falls,NY, Baltimore, MD. All are within a 3-4 hour bus ride. Both islands have bus stations, and it is very easy to get places from here, as well as to our locatios when you arrive in the US. We will work with your schedule so that you may travel with your friends. We have the beach at our door step, excellent shopping, museums, casinos, and historical buildings.

Other information: We are a 22 room hotel on the edge of Lake Superior, 87 miles north of Duluth Minnesota. We are located in the Superior National Forest. The area consists of several small towns. People come to the area to enjoy nature and get away from the noise of the cities. There is no public transportation. It is an area that is wonderful for students who do not need constant entertainment and love the forest and the natural world. It is not the place for someone who needs bars, movies theaters, and other entertainment.
